I had to shoot a portrait today of Michael Wilson, a local viola player, for our arts section. I had originally planned to use two lights, but I ended up forgetting them and just had the one I usually keep in my bag. Probably for the best.

A frame I liked while working on my “Our Town” for this week. Josh Garton, drum major for the Rock Bridge High School marching band, salutes as the band rehearses the “Star-Spangled Banner” behind Faurot Field prior to the start of the Providence Bowl.
I swear, this is the last image from New Orleans. Unless I go back, then there’ll be more. Also, on a side note, I discovered another way to distinguish real photographers from wanna-bes…real photographers watch out for semi-trucks while they’re photographing bands in the middle of the road.
I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Luckily, I still remember when every one of these pictures was taken.
