…why the hell I like this.

…why the hell I like this.

I just finished one of the best days I’ve ever had as a photographer. I didn’t shoot anything amazing, but I connected with a stranger and my peers.
I want more. This is why I came here. To feel that connection, to know that I did something worthwhile today. Something that I can feel good about, and that my subjects and peers respect.
So, for all those who participated in the workshop today, thanks for the resounding “yes!”when this image came up on screen.
I think David will like it…

Just starting my visual notes…

Workshop starts now.
No time for rest.
It’s gonna be a helluva ride.
Yeah, Overexposure.

Just a quick portrait from my weekend in San Antonio.

This is what happens when I have a D3 and two hours to kill on a flight from St. Louis to San Antonio:

Please leave your tray table in the upright, locked position during take-off…

All flights are non-smoking, so don’t do it, even though air travel these days will turn anyone into a chain smoker…

We’ll offer you one beverage of mostly ice free of charge. You’ll finish it in approximately 5 seconds. Additional soda can be purchased for $5…

This flight is booked full, so don’t try to move; it’ll just piss off your neighbor…

The view, however, is free. Take as much as you want.
I’d been in San Antonio for all of about 15 minutes, and was going to meet some KU friends at a bar downtown.
You may know it from its movie, Coyote Ugly.
I walked in and was plastered with free beer, beads and a hug from a scantly clad bartender.
Texas is growing on me…
