It’s about time
Just an outtake from a watch party last night where Obama announced that he will be the Democratic candidate.

Watch party
I got sent to a Republican watch party last night at somebody’s house. Here’s an outtake that I liked…

“I want Huckabee to win,” Donna Spickert told me when I asked her what she hoped would happen in the election. “But I know that after tonight, Republicans will come together and support whoever our nominee will be.”

He’s not hiding it.

Setup for the Senator
Setting up before Missouri Sen. Claire McKaskill officially announces her presidential endorsement for Sen. Barack Obama during a speech at the University of Missouri.

The Obama Kids go to Iowa
I’ve been hanging out with a Barack Obama student group here at MU for about the last two months, shooting everything from rallies to voter registration drives, to their latest excursion to Iowa to canvas and campaign for Obama.
The weather was crappy…really crappy, so they ended up making calls from the campaign’s headquarters in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Glenn Rehn, fearless leader, took time out of his busy calling schedule to take a portrait with me. Or maybe I just caught him looking at me…

The girl on the right drove all the way from Atlanta to campaign for Obama.

Posters and mailings in the windowsill.

Caitlin Ellis, another volunteer, making a call.

Talking with Chris, the precinct captain.

Whew…towards the end of the afternoon.

…and heading out, back to Columbia.
The Obama Kids

After the rally :: St. Louis, Mo.
I’ve been hanging out with a student group of Barack Obama supporters recently. I went with them to STL to see Obama at a rally there, and here’s one I thought was interesting anyway.
A lot of his supporters at that rally were young…it’s nice to see people my age and younger getting involved, after hearing over and over that our generation doesn’t care.
Well, we do.
Eyes for Obama

Shot this while exploring for my single strobe assignment for one of my classes. I’m really trying to learn not just what the hand-held strobe does, but how it works. I guess shooting in manual is the only way to figure that all out.
Not sure if this works or not, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.
